Scandalli Salerno student accordion.
🎼 Origins & Legacy (Early 20th Century)
Scandalli was founded in 1900 in Camerano, Italy by Silvio Scandalli and his brothers, growing to a major manufacturer by the 1930s.
They were pioneers, holding numerous patents and setting the standard for Italian accordion production .
🌟 Post-WWII Rise & the Salerno Era (1950s–Early 1970s)
After WWII, Scandalli merged into Farfisa (1946), which enabled mass scale production—up to 180 accordions a day.
The Salerno models—often with pearlescent or ornate finishes—emerged during the 1950s–1960s, as part of Scandalli’s upscale student and decorative lines.
While this accordion does need work, it makes a beautiful sound when you move the bellows. All the keys press easily but the bass buttons in the back need repair as many sink into their holes. I'm sure it needs more this is just what I noticed in inspecting in.
