For sale is a DaynaPORT E/II NuBus Ethernet card for vintage Apple Macintosh systems.

This is a NuBus Ethernet card by Dayna Communications, intended for Macintosh II, IIx, IIcx, IIci, IIfx, Quadra, Centris, and other NuBus-based Macintosh systems. The board is marked DaynaPORT E/II / Dayna Communications and has both a 15-pin AUI-style Ethernet connector and a BNC coaxial network connector on the bracket.

The card has an onboard switch marked ENET / CNET, which appears to select between the external Ethernet/AUI connector and the coaxial network connector. Please confirm the correct cabling and network setup for your system before purchase.

Drivers for DaynaPORT cards are available from vintage Macintosh software archives, including Macintosh Garden. The DaynaPORT driver packages are listed for System 6.x through System 7.0–7.6. Driver/software setup is the buyer’s responsibility.

A related TinkerDifferent discussion notes that the DaynaPORT E/II family is related to the Dayna/Kinetics/Novell EtherPort II architecture, and discusses driver selection for DaynaPORT II cards. The same discussion notes that different E/II revisions may require different DaynaPORT II driver choices, so some setup or driver experimentation may be required.

Condition is used. The PCB is clean overall, with normal signs of age and handling. The bracket and connectors have normal age-related wear. Please review all photos carefully for the exact board revision, ROM labels, connectors, switch position, components, and cosmetic condition.

Please note that this is vintage networking hardware. Compatibility may depend on the Macintosh model, system software version, driver version, AppleTalk / MacTCP / Open Transport configuration, network cabling, and external transceiver or coax network hardware. Best suited for collectors, restorers, or users familiar with vintage Macintosh NuBus Ethernet cards.
