Relisted due to timewaster who agreed to buy and arranged collection, but then just disappeared!
1988 VOLKSWAGEN T25 PANEL VAN 1.9 petrol, restoration project.
Uncut panel vans getting very hard to find these days.
1.9 water cooled, manual gearbox.
Circa 120k miles.
Last on the road 10 years or so ago.
Runs (from a can), drives and stops, for loading purposes only.
Inside has modern seats fitted up front with a bench seat in back.
Body really not bad for age with a few marks, bumps and scrapes, commensurate with a VW of this age.
The chassis/floor is good, but at a minimum it’s going to need FULL inner sill sections either side (available on ebay and elsewhere), plus the steps and a few other minor misc bits repaired.
Sliding door runner needs attention as door comes off rails when slid open (jammed shut for transportation).
It has been lowered and will come on steel wheels as wheels/tyres shown don’t hold air. You can have the alloys for £100 extra if you want them (I think they are Rota Burnouts 17”, multi-fit?).
Ignition key only, so you will have to source a lock/key/handle set (plentiful).
No v5 either I'm afraid, so you’ll have to apply for that too (only £25).
Battery knackered due to standing connected for years. I will borrow one for loading, but will need it back.
Had engine running off a can, has clutch and brakes too. The fuel tank looks sound apart from stale petrol, so I can’t see why with very little work (e.g. drain and fresh fuel) it won’t run direct from the tank, just haven’t got time for it at the moment.
Comes with tow-bar and electrics (untested) as shown.
This is a good looking van, so if you (or a mate) CAN WELD, are ‘handy’ with old classics and can provide the necessary tlc, it could look awesome.
These old uncut panel vans are now rare and starting to fetch good money when done.
This is sold as a FULL RESTORATION project and it is collection only (from (DH4 4TU).
A immediate £250 deposit is required on agreement of a deal. The van will need to be paid for in full before collection/delivery.
Please feel free to check out my other listings for sale when you're here!
PS - The dash tray shown has been removed, sorry. I put it in my other T25!
