This is how this Plug part number (B-77HC) breaks down: B=14 mm, 7 is a warm plug, H= 12.7 mm or 1/2 inch thread Reach, the C= Low Angle ground electrode .

What do the NGK PLUG part numbers mean? The first letter designates the Thread Diameter A=18mm, B=14 mm, C=10mm, D=12mm and J=12mm.

The next three letters designate Construction (may be combined) C=5/8" hex size, K=Hex size 5/8" Projected Tip(ISO), M= Compact Type, P= Projected Insulator, R=Resistor type, U=surface discharge, Z=Inductive resistor.  

Next is the Number, it designates Hot to Cold =2 being a hot plug and 11 being the coldest.

Next number is the thread reach E=19mm or 3/4", EF=tapered seat 17.5 mm or .708" reach, H=12.7 mm or 1/2",EH=Partial thread 19mm (3/4" total reach) &12.7mm (1/2"total thread), L=11.2 mm or 7/16", S=9.5 mm or 3/8" reach.
