Absolutely gorgeous copy of the 1965 blue trident label pressing of John Coltrane’s Black Pearls LP on Prestige PR-7316. One of his greatest earlier recordings, with three long-form improvisations featuring Donald Byrd, Red Garland, Paul Chambers and Art Taylor. The disc is very nearly pristine mint and plays superbly flawlessly and just beautifully. There are a few very light superficial marks but they generally make no sound at all and it plays pretty near flawlessly. Side one really plays just about flawlessly and on side two there is a sort of tiny rash during the bass solo toward the end, which does make a few very light pops, but only a few, and they are soft. Really it is a beautiful player. The thick glossy cover has only light wear, with rubbed corners and tiny bits of edgewear in spots, and maybe some very minor scuffing but overall just beautifully clean. Really a marvelous copy, very hard to beat.
