FASHIONED OF BLACK SILK AND IS TWO PIECE IN CONSTRUCTION
THE BODICE IS TRIMMED IN BANDS OF JET BEADING DOWN THE FRONT AND AROUND THE NECKLINE WITH ROUND BLACK JET BEADING TRIMMING THE EDGES OF THE BEAD DETAIL, THE COLLAR, CUFFS AND BOTTOM.
A COTTON EDGING IN WHITE TRIMS THE COLLAR AND CUFFS. BOB JET BUTTONS WITH A SHANK BACK CLOSE THE FRONT. INTERIOR IS LINED IN POLISHED COTTON AND IS FULLY BONED.
THE SKIRT IS ASYMMETRICAL IN STYLE WITH A BAND OF JET BEADING RUNNING DOWN. FAN PLEATING IS TO THE RIGHT SIDE AND IT GRADUATES AS IT FALLS. THE SKIRT IS RICH IN BILLOWING WITH ACCORDIAN PLEATING ALL ALONG THE BOTTOM.
INTERIOR LINED IN POLISHED COTTON AND GLAZED COTTON AND THE BOTTOM HEM IS BOUND IN WOOL.
CONDITION: THIS PIECE IS SOLD AS IT WAS ACQUIRED. MANY OF THE DANGLING DRIPPING BEADS ARE LOOSE AND BREAKING AND BEADS POP OFF.
UNDERARMS HAVE SOME SMALL STRESS WEAR WITH A REPAIR AND A TEAR BENEATH THE LEFT UNDERARM. COTTON EDGING IS FRAYING ON THE COLLAR AND CUFFS AND I PERSONALLY WOULD REMOVE AND REPLACE.
THE SKIRT HAS SIMILAR BEADS COMING OFF ON THE BAND THAT RUNS DOWN. WAISTBAND HAS BEEN PARTIALLY DECONSTRUCTED AT THE CLOSURE AND NEEDS A STRENGTHENING STITCH. SEVERAL OF THE BILLOW DETAILS ARE REVEALING THE SELVEGE AND ALSO NEED A STRENGHTENING STITCH.
THE INNER GLAZED COTTON ON THE BACK SIDE IS BREAKING AND THE BUILT IN BUSTLE BONES ARE LOOSE.
A WONDERFUL DRESS TO RESTORE. STRONG AND WEARABLE.
