Beautiful Italian made pair of Vintage Hi-Point boots by Alpinestars. These boots look to have had little or no use as they appear new. Rare pair that come with lug soles meant for enduro, woods or desert racing. The Lug soles were made in Italy by Davos which was founded in 1955 and supplied rubber soles. These boots are a size nine and come with their original box. I wear a 9 1/2 and they fit me as these boots generally are a half size larger than stated size. Very interesting note about these boots is the shipping label shows these boots were ordered from Penton Central, INC. Central U.S. Distributor of Penton Sportcycles in Amarillo Texas. Shipped to Alexandria Cycle Supply in Alexandria, Louisiana. In the early 1970's John Penton established a significant Amarillo Texas location for Penton Imports and Hi-Point Racing. This facility served as a major reginal hub for distributing Penton motorcycles and Hi-Point racing boots. The facility was also used by pro motocross racers and mechanics to rebuild bikes between races.
Penton motorcycles were lightweight American off road enduro bikes designed by John Penton and manufactured by KTM in Austria between 1968 and 1978.
Hi-Point boots were Iconic 1970s motocross/enduro boots developed by John Penton in collaboration with Italian manufacturer Alpinestars.
So, a little history here to share. Rare vintage boots that you can add to your vintage display or strap them on and hit the dirt. If you love vintage motocross or vintage dirt bikes, you should own a pair. Here is a rare like new pair.
