“HIDDEN TITLES” Rebus cards. Antique Parker Brothers parlor game, ca. 1900. No box. A party game published by Parker Brothers, based on rebuses. A rebus is a puzzle that uses pictures and/or letters in combination to represent words or phrases. For example, a picture of a cube next to the letter “A” would represent “Cuba”. To play the game, one player is made the leader and time keeper. They shuffle the cards, then show them one by one to the remaining players. The answers are recorded in the instructions sheet. The player with the most correct answers wins. This set contains 29 of the original 30 cards. Cards show some light soiling and foxing. Pencil marks in upper left corners and on rear. (see photos).
