Common Signs of Authentic Product:
The Pokeball Mark. The Pokeball Mark on the legit shrink cannot be removed. In contrast, the mark could be scratched off, or taped off from the counterfeit boxes, as the Pokeball mark was printed over on top of the plastic, rather than embedded within the plaster. Unfortunately, it has been reported to date that some of the more advanced counterfeit boxes could pass this test.
The print quality. The counterfeit boxes are in fact reproduced, therefore the print quality is worse than the legit box. Whereas sometimes it could be hard to tell without a legit box to compare side by side, the resolution on the QR code on the back of the box could give an indication. The legit box will have a sharp appearance when viewed under magnification, whereas the counterfeit boxes will show rather uneven sizes for the dots and lines.
The shrink seal. The legit shrink seal of the product is very thin, therefore vulnerable to thermal expansion and physical distortion. As a result, it is very common to see the Pokeball mark on the shrink to either appear in different sizes, or in a distorted, non-round shape. The shrink around the edges could also be floppy, and it is very common to find a ripple-pattern on the bottom of the box. In contrast, the counterfeit boxes circulating in the market up to date will always have a tight seal, with uniform size and shape Pokeball mark, as the material of the shrink is more rigid..
