Why this lens:

NOKTON is Voigtlander’s designation reserved exclusively for their fastest lenses — f/1.5 or brighter. The 40mm f/1.2 sits in a uniquely useful focal length: wide enough to feel relaxed and environmental, long enough to compress and isolate. The 10-blade rounded aperture produces exceptionally smooth, circular bokeh wide open that Leica and rangefinder shooters consistently rave about. This is the lens people tend to buy and never sell — I’m parting with it only to fund another project.

Adapts beautifully beyond M-mount: VM Leica M lenses mount via inexpensive adapters to Sony E, Lumix L, Fujifilm GFX, and virtually any mirrorless system — making this a compelling buy well beyond dedicated rangefinder users.
