The Clip1 clips onto the outside of your ear instead of going into it. Nothing seals your ear canal, nothing presses against it, and at 5 grams per earbud you stop noticing them. A flexible N-Flex memory-steel arch adjusts to your ear shape and holds through a run, and the soft liquid-silicone body means no pressure point after two hours. They work over glasses and under a helmet. A custom-tuned 12mm dual-magnet dynamic driver does the heavy lifting, with LDAC at up to 990kbps and Hi-Res Wireless certification behind it, plus Dolby Audio for a wider soundstage on films and games.
THREE THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU BUY
1. Open-ear means you hear everything around you. That is the entire point of the design traffic, announcements, the person talking to you. But be clear on what it costs: there is no noise cancelling and no passive isolation. On a plane or a subway these will not give you quiet. If that is what you want, this is the wrong pair and we would rather say so now.
2. Open-ear leaks some sound. SoundPEATS’ SoundFocus design aims the audio into your ear to keep leakage down, and at normal volume nobody beside you will hear much. Turn it up in a quiet office or a library and they will. Every open-ear design works this way.
3. LDAC is an Android codec. On Android you get Hi-Res streaming at up to 990kbps. On an iPhone you will not — iOS has no LDAC support, so the Clip1 falls back to AAC. They still sound very good on AAC, but if LDAC is why you are buying these, check your phone first.

SoundPEATS do not publish a codec-by-codec breakdown for the Clip1, expect noticeably less than 8 hours when you run LDAC, as you would on any pair. LDAC moves far more data, and that costs battery. Drop to AAC for a long day out.
