Royal Doulton (England) rare example of the Smooth Fox Terrier in the LARGE SIZE, model HN1068, retired from production by 1952. Artist Frederick Daws modeled this figurine of Ch. Chosen Don of Notts, whom Doulton called a Smooth Haired Terrier in their production records. This is a gorgeous figurine and large as well, measuring 8" tall by about 9 1/2" long. It bears the Royal Doulton hallmark as well as the hand painted model number. Superb modeling with lovely detail and outstanding decoration. The only FLAW is the right rear leg which was broken just below the hock joint and was repaired long ago. It appears to be a clean break. The glue used has darkened with age. Otherwise fine condition with a tiny fleck of paint missing just behind the left eye. Please enlarge and examine all photos carefully as they are considered part of the description. Experienced shipper of fragile items.
