 The mid century period saw a boom in handcrafted art.

Wealthy cultures have more time and appreciation for art and this

manifested in a thriving arts & crafts scene.

This large Japanese wall mural was handcrafted. Each was unique

and sold as kits to aspiring artists who finished each piece,

demonstrating their own skill and taste.

The amount of work that went into this piece is amazing.

Each bit had to be placed and adhered.

This is a rare surviving example. Most of these works

found their way into homes during the fifties and were

already changed out with new decor within a few years.

Only the best survived - a testimony to the workmanship employed

and timelessness of the subject.  In this case, this art transcends

time or any particular period and looks wonderful in any era and

with any decor. INCREDIBLE detail work!
