This is a vintage Swiss salesman sample watch in stainless
steel with no movement from the 1970’s.
All steel case
measures 34mm without crown.
There is a marked
dummy movement inside which indicates that this watch was designed to house the
A. Schild 1673 automatic movement.
If you have access to this movement, this could be turned into a functioning NOS watch with a bit of work.
Dial, hands and crown as well as winding stem are present.
A few words on sample watches:
A sample watch is a non-functional or demonstrator model of
a timepiece, used by manufacturers and authorized dealers to showcase a new or
upcoming design to retailers. These watches are missing their internal movement
and other essential components, serving solely as a visual representation of
the final product. They are also sometimes given to potential customers as part
of a sales pitch to demonstrate features like water resistance or durability
These can be converted to functional watch if buyer wants to
install a movement. Or parts from this
piece can be used to repair another watch.
Quite often sample watches are not marked and it can be
difficult to tell which movement is needed to make a sample watch work. In this
particular case the necessary movement is identified.
New Old Stock vintage item: Light marks may be present from
storage and handling over time.
It is being sold as-is without returns unless grossly
misrepresented.
This is a project for a trained watchmaker or for the
enthusiast hobbyist.
Please do not make a return request just because you decide
it’s too much trouble or you couldn’t find a cheap movement.
Check back occasionally. I will be listing several similar
project watches as time permits.
