A rare pair of porcelain vases. Russia, Kuznetsov Factory.                                                                                    Blue overglaze mark. The factory was originally founded by F.Y. Gardner and was subsequently sold to the M.S. Kuznetsov company. In 1872, M.S. Kuznetsov was granted the right to incorporate the image of the double-headed eagle into his factory's hallmark.

The "D.F." designation often stood for "Dmitrov Factory," confirming the provenance of items dating to the "Kuznetsov" period (prior to 1917). Objects from this period are distinguished by their high artistic merit and exceptional craftsmanship.
