Interest in early Plate Proofs and Trial Colours has been steadily increasing
as collectors continue to recognize the beauty, rarity, and long-term value
these special items bring to their collections.

Plate Proofs are widely admired for their exceptionally sharp engraving detail, superior centering, and vibrant post-office colours, often displaying the design with a clarity seldom seen on issued stamps.

As collector appreciation grows, demand for these classic proof issues has strengthened, resulting in consistently higher realized prices within the philatelic market and further highlighting their desirability and investment potential.

Description

  • Nova Scotia Scott #11TC Plate Proof (1860) 8  1/2¢ Black (Un-Issued Colour)

The unissued Black shade color with strong color, sharp impression, and excellent detail for this issue. Plate proofs were produced in extremely limited quantities for approval purposes and were never released for postal use.

An exhibition-worthy rarity and a compelling acquisition for the serious collector or investor focused on classic Canada and British North America material.
