A 1962 beauty.Basically one of my 3 everyday horn for the past 3 years. I am only the second owner, and I am sadly selling it for financial reasons, otherwise I would have kept it. But I hope it's gonna go to an expert. Bach Mount Vernon have to be treasured. More than an instrument: a steadily appreciating asset historically climbing 3 to 4% every two years.
About the horn. It was sold through Don Pastore Music on 3/14/62. This is the favorite configuration of leading Bach experts, a 0.453" bore 37 with a 25 pipe, 0.020" yellow brass bell, and lacquer finish. It is unaltered despite the depressing number of these more flexible Bachs that have been converted to pseudo 180s by modifying the lead pipe length. There are only a few of these in existence, and are among the best Bachs ever made.
Ps: the horn is in Luxembourg and I am using UPS Worldwide Expedited for international shipping. And since the platform sadly forces a flat rate, I've decided to go for an average high rate but at the end of the day : it's ok for buyers in the US, too expensive for Europeans and not enough for Asians and Australians. Don't mind me.
