This is from Oman, and is used to pour water on your hands after eating a meal. It's made of copper, and is engraved with floral designs and geometrical shapes running in bands around the bowl. There are diamond shapes on the spout and also on the base of the bowl. It weighs 489 grams, is 9 cm tall, 16.5 cm wide and 26 cm long to the end of the spout.
It is in excellent condition, with no splits, cracks or damage, and I would describe it as "museum quality". Its' Arab name is Sahlah bu mirzab, or just Sahlah.
There is a similar bowl in the Horniman Museum in Forest Hill, South London
The Oman and Zanzibar Virtual Museum also has photos of one, which has the identical pattern to the one I am selling.
I pack my items extremely well, and have 100% positive feedback from my buyers.
