This is a repack of 10 Topps cards from the years 1957 to 1986. They are totally random with commons, stars, HOF's, etc all mixed.
I've been storing them for 40 years.
THE STORY:
Back in 1986 myself and 2 baseball card collecting friends (when we were in our early 20's) decided to start a business repacking vintage baseball cards to resell. We had been collecting since the early 1970's (I remember opening a lot of 1971 cards the first year I really bought a lot of packs) and liked the vintage cards better than the new ones at the time. We named the company "National Grab Bag" and the packs were titled "Oldtime Originals". We even went out and registered the company, the trademarks and got a UPC code issued to us for the packs and another for the 60 count boxes. We did not rate our cards back then like today (1-10), we used the terms Average, Good, Very Good, etc (not as scientific as today). We decided on 1957 being the oldest due to it being what we considered the standard size at the time. We would pack them up, box them up and then sell them to the local baseball card shops in the San Francisco Bay Area by the box and they resold them by the pack, same as any other cards. In the late 80's, early 90's (I don't remember exactly) the baseball card market crashed and a lot of our local baseball card shops closed down. Because of this we shelved the business and went on with our lives.
A little over a year ago, with my kids grown up and being recently divorced, I sold the big house and began consolidating my collection of "everything" I'd collected over the years (cards, magazines, pinball machines, automotive, etc, etc, etc). And being that I'm a nostalgia nut, I filled up a 5000 square foot warehouse with 23 foot ceilings, with my STUFF. In the process I came across these and after discussing with my buddies, decided to start listing them for sale.
