Ken Griffey, Jr. ("Junior" or "the Kid") was a 13× All-Star (1990–2000, 2004, 2007), AL MVP (1997), 10× Gold Glove Award (1990–1999), 7× Silver Slugger Award (1991, 1993, 1994, 1996–1999), NL Comeback Player of the Year (2005), 4× AL home run leader (1994, 1997–1999), AL RBI leader (1997), Seattle Mariners No. 24 retired, and was a Member of the Major League Baseball All-Century Team. Griffey Jr. played for the Seattle Mariners, Cincinnati Reds and Chicago White Sox from 1989 to 2010. Griffey Jr. hit 630 home runs (7th All-Time), with 2,781 hits, 1,836 RBIs and batted .284 during his career. Griffey Jr. was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame on the 1st ballot, receiving 99.32% of the vote which is the 2nd highest percentage in MLB history. Griffey is the son of former MLB player Ken Griffey Sr. and the father of National Football League player Trey Griffey.
