The pipe with the female thread should be one standard size larger than the pipe with the male thread.
Always use the same threading tool when working on two different pipe sizes.
Step 1: Choose two pipes of different sizes
Step 2: Use the same threading tool for both: Cut external threads on the smaller pipe. Flip the same tool to cut internal threads on the larger pipe.
Step 3: After threading, simply screw the two pipes together to connect them.
Example:
To connect a 1/2" pipe and a 3/4" pipe:
Use the same 1/2" threading tool.
Cut external threads on the 1/2" pipe.
Flip the same 1/2" tool to cut internal threads on the 3/4" pipe.
After threading, the 1/2" pipe will screw securely into the 3/4" pipe, forming a proper fit.

Important Notes on Operation:
Pipe Size Confirmation: This threading tool is designed for 1/2", 3/4", and 1" pipes. Sizes 1/2" and 3/4" are easier to cut, while 1" pipes require higher torque.
Drill Power Requirement: For best performance, use a high-power hand drill or electric wrench. A weak drill may fail to cut threads properly.
Debris on Soft Pipes: When drilling into PVC or other soft pipes, burrs may appear. If the fitting doesn’t insert smoothly, simply clean or trim the burrs before threading.
Resistance on Larger Sizes: The larger the drill bit size, the greater the resistance. Excessive shaking can cause cross-threads or incorrect threads, leading to misalignment.
Fix the Pipe Firmly: Always secure the pipe with a vise when operating with a hand drill or electric wrench to achieve clean, accurate, leak-free threads.
