This auction includes the GPS Unit, the cradle with windshield suction cup, 12 volt power plug and Garmin OEM slip case.

This unit operates as it was designed to operate. 

The maps that are loaded on the unit came from the factory.

They may or may not fit your needs.

I do not know what the procedure is to update the maps or if they are even available for this GPS Unit.   

It is possible that current maps may not be available.  

This GPS Unit has a battery in it that is likely the age of the unit.  Over time, all batteries degrade and will not perform at the level that they did when they were new.  I have not tested the battery in this unit.  It may or may not hold a charge which would enable you to use the unit without a power cord attached.  I am selling this unit with the expectations that in order to use it, you will need to have a power cord attached full time.    

The 12 volt car power cord provided is a Garmin OEM cord and will operate the GPS properly. 

Using any other power cord than a OEM Garmin Car Charger will not allow the unit to operate properly. 

This power cord is designed to plug into a universal type 12 volt power plug  found in most cars / vehicle.  Some vehicles may not have a 12 volt power plug.  Please check the vehicle you intend to use this in to determine if you have the correct power outlet. 

If for some reason your car does not have a 12 volt power plug, then this GPS may not work for you.  Some vehicles have a USB plug.  This unit is not designed to power up with the USB cord (commonly used to download data from a computer) plugged into the USB of the automobile.  The USB plug does not provide adequate power and will not power the GPS properly.  

I have given the make and model of this GPS Unit.  Please do your own research to find out if it has the ability to perform the functions you desire. 

This GPS Unit was manufactured years ago, it may or may not be designed to do what you want it to do. 

Since this unit was manufactured years ago, it very well may not perform the functions you have seen on other GPS units.  

Do not have unrealistic expectations that this unit will perform functions that it was not designed to do.
