This antique Japanese Fukagawa Seiji bottle shaped vase is decorated in underglaze blue with a long winged flying four clawed dragon with additional gilding . He is wrapped right around the vase and set amongst numerous yellow, green, mauve and gold cloud scrolls. There is a flaming pearl painted in red enamel with gilding.


The vase was made in a bright white porcelain and was made around 1900. This is a stunning and relatively rare pattern on this porcelain vase from Japan. It was produced by the renowned maker Fukugawa Seiji, this antique original piece bears the hand painted brand logo of Mount Fuji with a stream and the Kanji characters that translate as Fukugawa made, showcasing the craftsmanship and artistry of Japanese artisans from the early 20th century.
