A vintage Stratton powder compact dating to circa 1958–1962, based on UK Registered Design number 900676.


Made in England, this elegant mid-century compact features a geometric trapezoid form with engine-turned “diamond cut” front panel and gold tone finish. The interior is marked Stratton with the company logo and retains its original mirror label reading “Real Diamond Cut Front,” along with opening instructions referencing a Stratton patent.


Stratton of Birmingham were one of Britain’s leading compact manufacturers throughout the mid-20th century, producing high-quality powder compacts known for their precision mechanisms and distinctive designs. The angular styling of this example is very typical of late 1950s / early 1960s British design.


This example appears unused and retains:

• Original interior stickers

• Original Stratton branded powder puff

• Clean mirror

• Working clasp and spring mechanism


There is slight tarnishing to the powder pad from long-term storage, but no signs of cosmetic use.
