A very fine Lerma Round Base knife that measures 4 11/16" long by 1 3/8" wide.  Lerma points found over a large area of distribution in both America and South America, and over a large time span.  Dating is probably in the Early to Middle Archaic period dating 9,000 to 6,000 BP range.  A true knife form.  Material is a fine piece of high grade Burlington chert.  Found in Pettis County, north of Sedalia on the Young Farm, around 50 yards from Muddy Creek, in Missouri.  A great type example, very thin and fine with nice collateral oblique flaking.  If you have any questions, please feel free to email me.

This piece was found by Ray Arnett who is from Sedalia, Missouri.  It found it in 1986.  He sold it to Ryan Keele, also of Sedalia, Missouri, who papered it with John Berner / AAI of Roswell, Georgia.  It was traded back to Mr. Arnett with some other points.  I purchased it from Mr. Arnett in November 1999.  This fine, authentic point will come with my artifact data sheet and the original AAI COA.
