Behold the tome which launched 1000 Devo songs! This is the 1925 religious pamphlet that turned Mark Mothersbaugh's head around by 180 degrees, leading to heavy positive warpage for a lot of us in the Devo fanbase.

Written by weird theologian BH Shadduck (from Ohio, of course) "Jocko Homo" contains some of the strangest theological arguments ever committed to paper. It is also a magnificent work of bizarre and impenetrable prose. Whatever point Shadduck was trying to make, it may or may not have been made by the last page. I've read it several times and I'm still not sure.

The captioned art is fantastic as well.

At any rate, this humble publication provided a wealth of inspiration to Devo. In words and pictures!

Offered for sale here is an exact repro of the original. It is 32 pages, saddle stitched, and contains all of the original content.
