A charming set of four vintage miniature brass candlesticks, finely turned with stepped bases and classic column detailing. These are very small examples, measuring just over 5cm tall, and were made as decorative pieces rather than for standard household candles.

Miniature brass candlesticks of this type were especially popular in the mid to late 20th century (circa 1960s–1980s). They were often sold as novelty ornaments, dolls’ house accessories, or decorative accent pieces, rather than practical lighting. Their size suggests they may have originally been intended for very thin taper candles, matchstick-style candles, or purely for display.

The style, weight, and construction are consistent with solid brass, and comparable sets were commonly manufactured in India, where brass turning and casting traditions were well established and large quantities of decorative brassware were exported to the UK, Europe, and North America during this period.

An interesting feature of this set is that the bases screw off from the pillar sections, which would have made them easier to clean, polish, or store. All four show age-related tarnishing and patina, along with some residual brass polish in crevices, consistent with vintage brass.
