Vintage Roland SH-101 Monophonic Synthesizer - Includes the rare original Roland MG-1 Modulation Grip
Condition Status: I am listing this unit as "For Parts / Not Working" because it needs service and two keys don't seem to be working. Please read the full details below before purchasing.
Functionality:
The synth powers on, produces sound, and the sliders alter the tone - see video. The filter and envelopes appear to be responding - but please note that this was just a power on and sound test as I am not a musician.
During testing, I found that two keys on the keyboard do not trigger a note - see video. The other keys work fine. This is a common issue with vintage synths (usually a dirty contact requiring cleaning), but I am not a technician and am selling it "as-is" for the new owner to address.
Untested Areas: I have not tested the CV/Gate ports, battery compartment, or deep sequencer programming.
Cosmetic Condition:
The unit shows signs of age.
There is surface grime on the keys and sliders that will need cleaning.
Visible signs of age/oxidation on the internal metal chassis rail (visible through the slider gaps).
Mod Grip: The grey MG-1 handle is attached and included.
Included Items:
Roland SH-101 Synthesizer (Grey)
Roland MG-1 Modulation Grip
No power supply included - requires standard 9V DC adapter
Due to the vintage nature of this item (40+ years old) and the specific dead key issue mentioned above, this item is sold AS-IS with NO RETURNS. It is the perfect candidate for a synth tech or enthusiast looking for a working project.
