For sale is an original vintage postcard.
This postcard showcases the exterior of the Roman amphitheater in Arles, known as the Arenes. Built around 90 AD, this impressive structure features two levels of arches and a distinctive tower. The amphitheater could hold up to 20,000 spectators and was used for chariot races and bloody hand-to-hand battles. Today, it hosts bullfights and plays, serving as a testament to the enduring legacy of Roman architecture in southern France.
