LIGHT LENS LAB LTM 50mm f/2 is a Leica L39 (LTM) mount lens that faithfully recreates the extremely rare “50mm F2” originally produced in small numbers for military Leica cameras.

This special edition features a stainless-steel front barrel, giving the lens a distinctive presence and premium feel.

By removing the included LTM–to–Leica M conversion ring, the lens can be mounted directly on Leica L39 (LTM) mount cameras.

[Worldwide Limited to 300 Units]

The LIGHT LENS LAB M 50mm f/2 (commonly known as “Zhou Elcan”) LTM version is limited to only 300 units worldwide.
Among them, a very small number adopt a special design inspired by the original Summilux 35mm f/1.4 “Steel Rim”, featuring a stainless-steel front barrel.

All units distributed by Shotenkobo (焦点工房) are this special stainless-steel specification.
The contrast between the stainless-steel front section and the rest of the barrel creates a refined visual accent, enhancing both build quality and ownership satisfaction.

[Faithful Reproduction of a Rare Classic]

To accurately reproduce the optical performance of the original military Leica 50mm F2, this lens employs a 4-element, 4-group design with no cemented elements.
This classic optical formula delivers a distinctive rendering, with gentle softness and subtle glow wide open, while stopping down produces excellent sharpness.

In addition to its optical characteristics, the lens also recreates the robust, utilitarian exterior design, including the distinctive aperture ring lever shape, one of the defining features of the original lens.

This lens is the second project in the revival series led by Chinese investor Mr. Zhou, following the success of the M 35mm f/2.
Thanks to its exceptional build quality and high level of historical accuracy, it has earned the affectionate nickname “Zhou Elcan” among enthusiasts.
