Fresh from a local estate.
Imagine my surprise to open a large modern cardboard box, to find this lovely doll carefully stored inside, along with its original box, with the original straw packing material.
Bisque socket head with sleep eyes, open mouth, jointed composition body
Head marked: 29 / A. W. / Special / Germany.
Stands approximately 22" tall to top of bisque head.
The clothing is so fragile that I am afraid to remove it from the body. I have carefully unpinned the back, to show the condition of the composition body.
Sold just as found, with everything shown in the photos. Includes the original box, two wigs, clothing, shoes, and a watch necklace.
This lovely doll displays beautifully, with no touchups, overpaint, or repairs. Sleep eyes function properly.
No chips, nicks, cracks, or hairlines to bisque head noted. Body appears to be in excellent condition, with very minor wear. All fingers intact and undamaged. No chipping, flaking, or breaks. Box shows wear, as shown.
Guaranteed to be antique, and not a modern reproduction.
