Description
Very rare original Kenwood 1DIN+1DIN CD/Cassette deck set R705/D505.
Operation confirmed on all functions: CD playback (CD-R compatible), cassette playback with reverse operation, fast forward/rewind, AM/FM radio, DSP/EQ operation, and audio output from all speakers - all working without issues.
Extensive overhaul performed on all components:
Cassette deck: Replaced leaking capacitors with new ones (20+), cleaned cassette head, replaced all illumination bulbs with new ones (illumination color is orange due to deteriorated rubber caps), repaired multiple solder cracks, adjusted Source button position on circuit board.
CD deck: Lens cleaning & laser output adjustment, loading roller cleaning, replaced leaking capacitors in CD unit, replaced leaking capacitors on CD main board, replaced leaking capacitors in LCD unit, replaced all illumination bulbs with new ones (illumination color is orange for the same reason as cassette), and other extensive work - operation is excellent.
Unit condition shows scratches and dirt consistent with age. Fully functional units like this are quite rare, as most examples do not operate properly.
One internal tab on the front panel of the D705 was partially broken, but this causes no operational issues. As a precaution, it has been secured with tape.
