Ancient Quilted Redwood Bookmatched Guitar Drop Top Set 384

7.3mm thick Bookmatched Set, perfect for electric guitar and bass making. Please see images for dimensions. The images show the sets in their natural state and also sprayed with Naphtha to show the true colour and figure.

The slabs that yielded these tops were cut from a salvaged tree that naturally fell roughly 120 years ago. This tree was one of the true giants of the Californian coast, and estimated to be 2500-3000 years old!

These tops will make some truly fantastic and unique looking instruments! Because these sets were taken from one of the true giants of the Californian Redwoods, the grain is very dense and also close together. It's next to impossible to count the growth rings without a magnifying glass! So, unlike young redwood timber that can be a little soft due to the wide grain, these ancient sets are good and stiff. Perfect for instrument making!
