YOSHINOBU YAMAMOTO
Yoshi is just getting started.
If your jaw dropped when he became the first pitcher since Randy Johnson to post 3 wins in the World Series on his way to winning the World Series MVP. If you marveled at him throwing back-to-back complete games in the division series and World Series and pitching with no rest in Game 6 and Game 7. Prepare to be amazed.
Because before coming to MLB and becoming the highest paid pitcher ever when he signed with the Dodgers, Yoshi was already a legend in Japan’s Baseball league.
In 2021 he won Japan’s pitching Quintuple crown leaguing the league in wins, ERA, strikeouts, winning percentage and innings pitched. He also won the Sawamura Award (Cy Young), league MVP and led his team to a championship.
In 2022, another Quintuple Crown, another Sawamura Award, another league MVP and another Championship. Oh, and a no-hitter.
In 2023, a third straight Quintuple Crown, Sawamura Award, league MVP and a second no-hitter.
