The front side of the glass shows an elaborate floral and scroll motif with daisy-like flower heads and curving leaves with dot textured background. The other side is typically smooth.
This floral glass was widely used during the Victorian Era, often imported from Belgium, and featured in colonial architecture, including select buildings, bungalows, and churches. The Glass Panes' popularity was because of its ability to allow light to pass through while obscuring visibility, giving privacy. It added ornamental value to windows, doors, partitions, and skylights.
It measures approx. 10.9 x 10.45 inch (275mm x 265mm) and 5mm thick.
The glass shows painting stains that were probably formed while the window frame was painted sometime in the past. This floral Victorian Glass Pane is a genuine salvage and reclaimed treasure from the late 19th century. Perfect for those looking to add a touch of history and charm to their home or restoration project.
