Here is a circular piece of lace tatting that has a diameter of 7" and was made as a memorial piece for President Millard Fillmore, 1800–1874. It features a coat of arms in the center and beneath it in a banner appear the letters PUL, PIL, and what appears to be MORE. I may be wrong about that, but regardless, I have no idea of the meaning. It has been loosely affixed to a piece of red velvet backing by simple stitching on the reverse side. An exquisite piece of handcrafted knots and loops made in honor of the 13th U.S. President. Thanks for looking at this auction.
