A Nummus (a small denomination coin like a penny) of Licinius, Roman emperor from 308-324 AD ruling alongside Constantine I. This coin dates from 313-317. The coin is bronze, larger than most Roman coins at 24mm in diameter, and weighs 2.4g.

The obverse shows a bust of Licinius and reads "IMP LIC LICINIVS P F AVG" meaning "Supreme Commander Licinianus Licinius the pious, the fortunate, emperor".

The reverse shows Jupiter, standing, holding victory on a globe in his right hand and a scepter in the left. The lettering is "IOVI CONSERVATORI" meaning "To Jupiter, the protector of our two emperors".

The  mint (at the bottom of the reverse) is SMN - Nicomedia, modern day Izmit, Turkey
