Incredible Extremely Rare French Victorian Edwardian Art Nouveau Deco 850 or 900 Platinum Palladium Very Thin Chain Necklace⛓️ Hallmarked with a partial Neptune heads which is French for platinum on the chain end, not the spring ring end,  judging by luster and pliability and the era would make the composition either 850 or 900 platinum. Platinum in the Victorian Edwardian and art Deco era consisted of either 85 percent platinum and 15 percent palladium for a beautiful white shine or reflection (850 platinum), or 90 percent platinum and 10 percent iridium to add rigidity and strength (900 platinum). The tiny nib to press open the platinum spring ring is of yellow gold, very traditional of its era. Weighs only approximately 2.2 grams ! even though its approximately 41.6 cm (16  5/16 inches) in length ! The chain wire in each link is So thin, approximately 0.25 mm (0.157/16 of an inch), almost the width of a hair follicle that you can see over my hand ! Like how in the world did a goldsmith platinumsmith metallurgist ever possibly handcrafted this chain a hundred years ago ! The chain was designed to add a tiny sparkle around a lady's neck which would have most of the attention given towards the attached pendant or charm. An amazing achievement in metallurgy, so if your searching for an extremely rare thin original chain of the Art Nouveau Deco era to have your pendant or charm stand out then this is it ! Most of such delicate chains of that era would have with been destroyed or badly damaged and requiring repair, this one is intact, no repairs and with all original parts, links !
