Randal William Borough
Born on April 4, 1878 in Memphis, TN. While living in San Francisco during 1900-1906, Borough studied at the Mark Hopkins Art Institute. Following the earthquake, he moved to Los Angeles where he became a successful illustrator for Saturday Evening Post and other national magazines. He then worked as an advertising artist in NYC for Lord, Thomas & Logan until 1931. At that time he retired to his home in Rowell, VT and devoted his remaining years to portraiture. He died while vacationing in Sarasota, FL on Feb. 3, 1951. Exh: Painters Club (LA), 1906; NAD.
