 Condition: 
Two matching brown cloth-bound hardcovers with gilt titles to spines, blind impressed borders to both covers and spines. Clean and secure, but showing CONSPICUOUS rubbing to all edges and corners.  Still-bright yellow endpapers. Vol 1 has a 2cm. wear to the top of the spine and both volumes are mildly shook at the front endpapers. There is foxing to prelims, title-pages and page edges and the final page of Vol. 2 remains uncut. Overall, this set of 172 year-old quality publications are in ROBUST, GOOD CONDITION and present well. The subject is fascinating and the illustrations are evocative.
