Here for sale is a rare example of an Apothecary Jar, also known as a "albarello". The origin or manufacture of this jar is unknown, but it's highly probable that It's Spanish, Italian or German.

This is not an area of our expertise, but we knew enough to buy this, and know it is quite rare to find these in this condition. There is a hole in the bottom, as it probably was a lamp base at some point. There is no top or cover lid. This jar probably dates late 17th or early 18th century. There are some areas of underglaze, and a few chips, as noted in the photos, but a great piece of folk art at the very least ! Please ask questions before purchasing. This Apothecary jar is sold in as in condition, unrestored, and without return as a final sale. The Apothecary Jar is shipped USPS priority in a 12 X 12 X 14 inch box including insurance. Shipping weight is aproximately 4 pounds.Thank you for taking interest in this rare pottery Apothecary Jar and your continued business !
