This is a beautiful vintage alpaca locket pendant, featuring a detailed relief of the Virgin Mary surrounded by cherubs or angels. This piece is crafted in the style of a small rosary case or a reliquary box.
The pendant has a worn, antique patina, which adds to its charm and character. Alpaca silver is an alloy of copper, nickel, and sometimes zinc, known for its resemblance to silver, but it is not sterling silver. 
The front of the locket depicts the Virgin Mary standing on a crescent moon, a symbol of the Immaculate Conception, with her hands clasped in prayer. The image is surrounded by clouds and multiple cherubs. The back of the locket is plain and the hinge and clasp appear to be in working condition.
