This charming and romantic hand fan is in extraordinarily good condition for its age, with bright colors and minimal edge damage. This an example of the fine lines and shading typical of the peak of the chromatographic period in the early 1900s.
In picture 4, on the lower right edge, when it’s expanded, you will note two slight bits of surface rubbed, which appear to have happened during our photo process. It appears that, at some point, the final opening/retaining fabric has been repaired/replaced with fine linen. There are also two holes in the side panels apparently from where someone might have used tacks in order to display the fan.
