📄 Full Description
Beautiful antique 14-inch all-wood jointed doll, attributed to the Albert Schoenhut Company, Philadelphia, circa 1915–1920. This early American wooden doll is crafted entirely from carved beech or maple hardwood, with fully articulated ball-and-socket joints at shoulders, elbows, hips, and knees — a hallmark of Schoenhut’s innovative design.
The doll features a hand-painted face with soft blue-gray eyes, rosy cheeks, and closed red lips.
Original wood finish remains visible with lovely age patina. Joints move freely and hold poses well.
Originally fitted with a light chestnut mohair wig in a short bob or side-braid style (wig now missing). The wig would have been hand-laid mohair with soft curls, typical of Schoenhut’s 14” “Miss Dolly” or “Toddler” models.
A true piece of early 20th-century toy artistry — ideal for collectors, restoration, or museum display.
