Super Nice Marantz 2230B AM/FM Stereo Receiver, Extensively Serviced Restomod

NOTES:

1. Cleaned inside and out
2. Installed new tall plastic feet since one of the originals was missing
3. Removed one small dimple in the top cover
4. Installed new gold colored screws to mount the rear jacks and internal circuit boards to improve appearance
5. Installed new LED dial lighting
6. Replaced other bulbs with standard bulbs including the ones behind the tuner meters, stereo indicator & dial needle
    (Regular bulbs have a softer appearance behind the meters)
7. Performed a major power supply cap upgrade from 13,600 uF (stock) to 30,000 uF which enhances bass response
8. Dynamic power also greatly increased due to additional power supply energy storage in the new filter caps
9. Custom inrush limiter installed to prevent massive inrush current from the large power supply capacitance upgrade
10. Inrush limiter is switched out 3 seconds after turn on, so there is now a relay click before the protection relays
11. All eletrolytic capacitors & many film & tantalum caps were replaced on the power, phono, pre-amp, & amp boards
12. DC offset was zeroed for both channels
13. Amp bias was set for both channels such that there is no visible notch distortion up to 20 kHz on our scopes
14. Phono RIAA curve response was checked after phono board restoration, and is good and within spec
15. Power was measured for 120VAC line at 1 kHz into 8 Ohms, one channel driven, and is 34 W RMS for both channels at onset of clipping
16  All pots and switches chemically cleaned to minimize pops and scratchiness
17. AM and FM tuners aligned to the dial
18. Tuner performance, including FM stereo (MUX) performance, is very good
19. Adjusted power board reference voltage per service manual spec after power supply board restoration
 
Overall, a super nice restomod 2230B with extra punch due to the power supply upgrade and installation of new lytic caps and polypropylene film caps. This is a nice, clean, upgraded piece of vintage audio gear for the discerning buyer. We do our best to bring unique Restomods to market. 

Notice how many other sellers' service fails to replace the burned out dial needle bulb. Also, some sellers replace the FM stereo indicator bulb with an LED, and this will not work properly with the tuner MUX function (and sometimes the FM mute) unless the circuit is compenstated for the LED. All of our work is done in professional shops, and not a lavatory as noted by another eBay seller.
