OLYMPUS (MICROTEC) TBS CUT 4055 MICROTOME  - FULLY RECONDITIONED

This German made microtome is in superb condition. Our Biomedical Engineering Department went over it from top to bottom and it is now in perfect working order. We disassembled it, cleaned it, lubricated it and then reassembled it, tested and calibrated it. We then touched up some minor scratches and now it looks as good as it performs.

This microtome slides smooth as silk and cuts beautiful ribbons (see images) cleanly and precisely. All the controls are crisp. It can be used with either high or low profile blades (buyer chooses).

This microtome has a function called "retraction" that moves back the specimen holder 80 microns on the up stroke.  This keeps your specimen from scraping on the back of the blade on the up stroke to make cleaner cuts.
