This is an original press photo. Washington: This Time, He Says It May Stick-Rear Admiral Richard E. Byrd uses a map today, talking to reporters about the Navy's new expedition to the Antarctic. He says the new bases there probably will represent the beginning of a permanent establishment where up to 500 persons will be stationed.
