Born in Derby on 25 March 1965, Tracie Young impressed Paul Weller enough through a Smash Hits magazine advertisement to become his priority signing for the Respond Records label. She contributed vocals for The Style Council's first single Speak Like a Child in January 1983 and had UK hit singles with The House That Jack Built / A-Sid eplays NM- and B-Side almost VG+
