Station to Station was released in 1976 as David Bowie's ninth original album. Having shown a new direction with the American recordings of his previous album, Bowie began filming his first starring role in a film, The Man Who Fell to Earth, and began work on the album after the film's release. He also toured as the new character "The Thin White Duke." The album charted at no. 5 in the UK and no. 3 in the US. The singles "Golden Years," "TVC15," and "Breath of the Wild" were released. Since its initial CD release in the 1980s, this album has been remastered countless times, beginning with a RYKO disc in 1991 and a special edition from EMI in 2007. This audiophile collection offers a rare, original master recording that differs from previous remasters.
