Under compression in the gland, VR3 die-forms into packing rings- this eliminates the requirement for ribbon tape around valve stems, and the need for individual sizes of separate die-formed rings. The need for fewer packing components therefore ensures a great cost saving over the lifetime of the product. This packaging material can simply be cut to length and spiralised into the gland (there is no need for individual cut rings)
Grafan is self-lubricating, and will not harden, shrink or dry out in use. This is a long life and zero-leakage packaging for all uses, in high temperature, high pressure and high speed applications.
Suitable for use on: rotary and reciprocating pumps, mixers, valves, expansion joints, agitators, ball valve seats, and other static seals.
Resistant against: all acids, alkalis and solvents (except very strong oxidants), as well as gases, feed water, and superheated or saturated steam.
